The Freehold Art Society announced today that over 25 local artists are scheduled to participate in Freehold’s Art Expo, to be held in conjunction with Olde Freehold Day, August 17, at Lake Topanemus, 251 Pond Road, Freehold.
The Art Expo will showcase dozens of pieces of art created for the event depicting Lake Topanemus Park by professional and emerging New Jersey artists. Entries will be judged by award winning artist Vicky Culver. Other Freehold themed artwork, prints and note cards will also be available. The Expo is also serving as an artist meet-up as well as making local art and artists more visible to the community at large.
The Freehold Art Society was established in 1960 and offers free art workshops and demos to the public (adults). The Art Society’s art show at Freehold Boro’s Carnegie Library has run for over two decades with each piece shown only once.
Olde Freehold Day festivities this year celebrate Freehold Boro’s Centennial. In addition to live music, vendors, food trucks and other attractions, this year’s Kidz Zone is free. Shuttle buses run the few short blocks from Monmouth County Courthouse’s parking lot to Lake Topanemus, and hay rides are available from the parking lot on Robertsville Road. Festivities run from 12-5.
