The Freehold Art Society is pleased to announce The Olde Freehold Day Art Expo and Contest will be held on August 1, 2026. The show will be open to the public from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm during Olde Freehold Day at Lake Topanemus.

The entry into the contest is open to all adult New Jersey artists, newbies to pros. Volunteers are needed for receiving, pick up and table sitting. Please email us or comment below.

Receiving is 9-10 am at Lake Topanemus, 251 Pond Road. The Freehold Art Society tables are past the food trucks. You may drive into the park until 10 am. Volunteers on golf carts at the front gate will bring you back if you’re on foot.

We will receive your work, display it for visitors and enter it into judging. The entry fee is $5 per piece. Three entries max per person. Space is limited.

Art may be for sale or not for sale (NFS). Artists may leave their pieces or stay. There is no commission on sales conducted by the FAS, but a donation to the Lake Topanemous Committee is encouraged.

Entries must be dry, wired for hanging, framed or unframed. Do not use tape to secure your painting. All art work must be labeled on the back with Artist Name, Phone, Title, Medium and Price if applicable.

Artwork must be original, created in the last five years. Acceptable media include watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oils, mixed media, pencil, marker or charcoal. Artwork should be family friendly.

Winners will be announced at approximately 3:30. Prizes include ribbons and cash awards. Pick up is 5:00. You can drive in to pick up your work after 5:00. You may also walk your pieces out after 4:00 and judging.

Receiving, judging and pick up times are subject to change and will be finalized by July 20. Check back for updates.

Waiver: The Freehold Art Society will treat each work with care and have members on site throughout the show. However, neither The Freehold Art Society nor the Olde Freehold Day Committee assumes responsibility or liability for any loss or damage incurred to any artwork. Entry in this show signifies compliance with this waiver. Artists may obtain insurance privately; no insurance is provided by the venue.

Festival parking services begin at 11:00 am. Free shuttle buses run from the parking lot at Monmouth County Courthouse. Parking is also provided at Lake Topanemus’ Robertsville Road entrance (between Esther and Lake) with fun hayrides into the park.

Olde Freehold Day features live music, hot food, kids zone, crafts, adult activities and vendors! The lake has lots of shade and picnic tables too. Bring your people and/or your paints. Enjoy the day- and the art show- with us and your neighbors.
